By kind Invitation from The Pembleton Guys

A three wheel gathering in the NORTH YORK MOORS, with a superb run over The County on the Saturday.

The run was organised last year by Sam McIntyre who did a brilliant job.
This year, he is being ably assisted by GeoffH. They have devised a new and devilish route.

      All makes welcome.

The event is based at Rosedale Abbey situated at the foot of the famous Rosedale Chimney in the heart of the North York Moors. A beautiful location at a crossroads leading to challenging and scenic coastal and country routes.
Facilities there are a Bunkhouse, two campsites, three pubs, two cafes/shops and a working phone box (no mobile signal).

DATES Friday 19th to Sunday 21st May 2017.

      Meet Venue:

      ROSEDALE ABBEY http://www.yorkshirebunkhouse.co.uk/ YO18 8SE
The Bunkhouse sleeps up to 19 folk (inc 1 twin & 1 double room) and is great value at £150 per night for the whole set-up….so the more who go, the cheaper it is.

      The Pubs:
      http://www.whitehorserosedale.co.uk/ (Fully booked)
      The Milburn Arms
The Coachhouse Inn http://www.coachhouseinn.co.uk/ (Bar/restaurant only, no rooms)
Sevenford House B&B http://www.sevenford.com/ (1 double room left)
All within walking distance of The Bunkhouse

August Guest House (01751 417328) (25 mins walk)

Café: http://www.grazeonthegreen.co.uk/ (for Saturday & Sunday breakfast if staying in The Bunkhouse)

Travel to there on Friday, return home on Sunday.
Or just come for the run on Saturday 20th.

Please let me know if you want to book up.

I had to re-load this topic as I messed it up when revising……..

Sam McIntyre has encyclopaedic knowledge of the area and Geoff Hemmingway is well placed to co-ordinate action at the Bunkhouse. A good weekend will be had by all……….Plenty of scope and interest for Trikingista.
Please contact me so we can plan accommodation and dining. I’ll pass your details on or contact Geoff direct, ghemingway@totalise.co.uk.

We now have 3 Trikings going.

Anyone considering the Bunkhouse option needs to speak up soon as Geoff/Sam will not be able to hold the booking for long.

Tony, Which of the campsites are you using please?

Great to hear Mark. If you set out at 5-30am Sat. you should be there in plenty of time. Look forward to seeing you both.
                Travel light!
                That’s now 4 Trikings attending.
Still one room left at Sevenford House, (web site say 3 rooms but have another) 3 booked with Trikings.

Still room for others in the Bunkhouse … the higher the occupancy goes the lower the per head per night costs fall !! Current cost is £17 per head per night ( dogs free ! )…. what a bargain for excellent accommodation .

Small point Tony. Lorraine and myself are b&b , whether that effects your room still available ?
                      Cheers Mark

Geoff has come up with some entertainment. I’ve copied this from the Pembleton forum.

“Ok … it’s now time to prove that I can organise a “Booze Up In a Brewery”

We have a provisional booking for a one hour private brewery tour followed by dinner at the New Inn, Cropton commencing 7.00pm on Saturday 20th May.

http://www.newinncropton.co.uk ….. click on Brewery and Food tabs ( web server is slow ! )

The tour is £6 per head and includes a pint of nectar or a sample of three different brews ……

Dinner is whatever you choose from the normal menu.

On a practical note, the ale is “strong” and it would be better / safer subject to numbers, that a mini-bus be arranged to transport us to the New Inn and later return to Rosedale …cost depends on numbers , as usual.

Sam and I recognise that not all may wish to be involved.

Therefore it would be most helpful if you could confirm your participation in this asap so that arrangements can be firmed up

Due to ill health and impending hospital treatment, David & Eileen will not be able to be with us. There is now a double room available at the B&B, Sevenford House. (http://www.sevenford.com/)
Deposit is paid, so if anyone would like the room, let me or Sevenford know.

What a brilliant weekend, thoroughly enjoyed by Lorraine and myself. Extremely well organised by Geoff and Sam. Good company and good to meet up with some Trikingista as well , We visit the York Moors regularly, but were stunned by what local knowledge can reveal !
Thanks Tony for coordinating the Triking attendance.

Just got back from Rosedale after staying a few extra days. The weather improved; however, the weather we had did not spoil the event. A well organised event with great people. I now have a little more respect for these Pembleton three wheelers, they have so much character and nippy to boot.
